Decommissioning plan

We will produce a decommissioning plan and work scope in addition to risk assessments and method statements, as well as program an environmental management plan and site waste management plan, which we prepare and establish with authorities and the client prior to commencing any work.

​Industrial cleaning and decontamination

Industrial cleaning and decontamination of components like machinery, plants, equipment and pipework within a facility is generally the first stage of work. Once this is completed and each area has been signed off on, the strip-out and removal stage of the decommissioning work may begin.

Strip-out and removal

Occasionally, at the request of the client, the machinery, the plant, and the equipment will be transferred to a different plant or facility to be reused. In this case, the strip-out and removal process will be a bit more complicated in order to avoid causing damage. If the decommissioned machinery, plant, or equipment will not be transferred to a different facility, these elements are transported to a licenced recycling and waste facility, adhering to the site waste management plan established before the project starts.

​Structural demolition works

Any scheduled demolition works of buildings or structures may occur after a site has been decommissioned. Our typical high levels of health and safety and operational procedures are at the head of our approach. These demolition and decommissioning works generally occur if a portion of the plant or facility is remaining operational.

Survey and site handover

Once all demolition and decommissioning works have been finished, a survey and handover is done in order to release the site for the next phase of its development.

How much time does decommissioning take?

Decommissioning stages of projects may vary in their duration, depending on the size of the facility or plant that is to be decommissioned, the level of industrial cleaning and decontamination of the machinery, plant, or equipment, no matter if these items are to be retained for another plant or facility, or recycled, and whether the job is to be carried out in the defined phases to ensure the continued operation of another area of the plant or facility.

Decontamination services

In providing decontamination and demolition services for abandones, existing, or inactive structures, and facilities. Generally, facilities utilized for manufacturing or related industrial use, testing, waste management and waste treatment must be decontaminated prior to beginning structural removal.

Chemical leaks

Chemical leaks, process-related issues, and faulty or noncompliant storage tanks may result in the need for remediation of impacted soil. Prepping a site for “clean closure” in order to facilitate an issue-free transfer of ownership or change in property use is also frequently necessary.
